audiogram303 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Hi,I have a wireless LAN at home, my laptop is running Windows XP Home, and the other PC is running XP Pro.I have been able to access shared folders on the PC from the laptop for a while, then one day it suddenly stopped working. The network itself is working, but every time I try to access a folder across the network, a login screen pops up with the guest account as the username - greyed out and cannot be changed. When I try to access the entire network, I get a message that I don't have the permissions to access the workgroup "MSHome".Any ideas? Thanks!
Maleko Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Try running the "set up a home or small office network wizard" located in my network places. Run it on both machine's see if this helps.
enuffsaid Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Try this if you haven't already...In Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View [tab] > UNTICK Use simple filesharing (Recommended).'nuff
