MonMon Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Hi!I found this command line in Norton Process viewer under Auto runs. I haven´t seen this before and I wonder if I ought to disable it or not."cmd.exe /C move /Y %SystemRoot%\System32\syssetub.dll %SystemRoot%\System32\syssetup.dll"Please NOW in Microsoft Windows XP section, use [TAGS] in your topic's title.See rules.--Sonic
Siginet Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 It means it is moving syssetub.dll and overwiting syssetup.dll with it.
net_user Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 type this in from the command prompt...cmd /?(read)move /?(read)there ya go..
noboyuki Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Hello everyone!Picking the topic up - it wasn't that difficult to guess that. The more difficult thing, and here goes my part of the question, is what it means in practice, ie. why does it replace that file for?I've been googling for it a while, and searching here on the forum, but I've only found some info from Microsoft about the original file's function.Syssetup.dll, Setupapi.dll, Netshell.dll, and other DLLsFor the final stage of an upgrade, Syssetup.dll coordinates most of the actions. The operating system running during this stage is very similar to the completely upgraded operating system, although only a small number of services are started. Syssetup.dll uses a variety of other DLLs for configuration tasks, for example, iesetup.dll for configuring Internet Explorer and Ocgen.dll for configuring certain operating system components such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserve...f63a971033.mspxCheers,
