Chireven Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Greetings:I have a question that I'm hoping to find some answers on. It might seem a bit strange, but I hope you all bear with me.On an Active Directory domain (2003), what are the problems that could occur if Reverse DNS was not functioning. To further the question, consider:Domain Controler resolves "MyWorkstation" to an improper IP address.A reverse lookup of the IP address resolves it to an entirely different hostname. What are the possible problems that "MyWorkstation" would have while accessing domain resources where the Domain Controller itself can not resolve it's hostname?I welcome any information or external links. I've done googling, but it's much more difficult to search for the problem when you don't know what it is!Thank you in Advance.
nmX.Memnoch Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 For starters, did you create a reverse lookup zone?
