Hi Folks

We have a new system (December 2005). It came with Microsoft Windows XP MCE 2005. We use Internet Explorer (IE) as our web browser. About a week or so ago we started experiencing a problem. When we have the IE window open to a particular page and then click on a link, such as newspaper article, then the original page disappears and a new one opens with the article. The back button is greyed out, so getting back to the original page is not possible. As well, when we have an IE browser open to a certain page and click on the IE browser icon to open a second simultaneous page then the original page disappears. In other words we can never have two IE browser pages open at once.

I have gone into "Internet Options" and reset all the defaults I could find.

Would appreciate any help. With thanks...N. Hart, Canada

I had a similar problem in 2004, with IE-6 closing down when trying to access Links within IE and even some Email Links. However this was with XP-Pro. But, I think MCE is very similar to XP-Pro with it's interface with IE.

My problem turned out to be McAfee's 2004 Internet Security Suite, with All of it's options selected.

I fixed my problem by Uninstalling ISS6, and doing a Custom re-install of the Firewall and Anti Virus only.
