khatfull Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 (edited) Greetings,I'm working with a RAM-challenged little laptop with W2000. I have a ZyXEL wireless card that works great but who's configuration utility and associated service take up 10-12MB RAM when loaded. Does anyone know of a specific card who's software isn't so bloated? I find it hard to believe that it really needs to take 10-12MB of RAM to keep up with a wireless card. Thanks a lot!-Keith Edited January 27, 2006 by khatfull
Aluminum Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Don't the proxim/orinoco type cards have real drivers, not giant bloated ndis wrappers?I think maybe you could get a guess as to how bloated each one is by checking out the driver download packages.
