missing system sounds

Featured Replies

Hello all from Slovenia....

I have problem with missing system sounds in WinXP. Under control panel Windows default scheme is set, but play button is greyed out, also a little speaker icon in tray is missing. Playing .wav files with e.g. Media player works o.k.. My audio card is Realtek AC97, with latest drivers. Uninstall drivers and audio card and reinstalling back didnt fix my problem. XP are fully updated....

Anyone can help me?

nobody???

this might be dumb....but that button will be greyed out if no sound is associated with the windown events...is there a speaker icon next to them...if so and its greyed out..then another approach will be needed.
