Branden Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Hey, I'm not sure what i did but since yesterday i have had the problem of every 30 seconds or so the cpu is completely taken up by my winlogon.exe. I have ranAD-AwareAnti-vir (which it wont let me update, it jsut closes itself during update)and Stingerat recieved some errors of trojans when i ran anti-vir which it deleted but i still have the problem. Here is my hijackthis logLogfile of HijackThis v1.99.1Scan saved at 10:17:18 AM, on 1/15/2006Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)Running processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_FATI9FA.EXEC:\Program Files\Netropa\Multimedia Keyboard\MMKeybd.exeC:\Program Files\Logitech\Video\LogiTray.exeC:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2\DVDAudio\CTDVDDet.EXEC:\Program Files\AVPersonal\AVGNT.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\LVComsX.exeC:\Program Files\Logitech\Video\FxSvr2.exeC:\Program Files\Netropa\Multimedia Keyboard\TrayMon.exeC:\Program Files\Netropa\Onscreen Display\OSD.exeC:\Program Files\Netropa\Multimedia Keyboard\nhksrv.exeC:\Program Files\AVPersonal\AVGUARD.EXEC:\Program Files\AVPersonal\AVWUPSRV.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\CTsvcCDA.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXEC:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\StarWind\StarWindService.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\MsPMSPSv.exeC:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exeC:\DOCUME~1\Branden\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX00.187\HijackThis.exeR1 - suryad Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 When you say the CPU is totally taken up by the service...are you tlalking about that CPU graph? If so then have you tried some free online scans like those from Panda, and Trendmicro? Those are the only 2 that i know of. Try them out. Then post aback to and let us know if they got the bug or not. Also give www.ewido.com a shot. That is one badass software.
Branden Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 i tried the trendmicro and it found some spyware and like 3 trojans, and i cleared them but im still getting the winlogon to jump in the 99% cpu useage. Ewido didnt find anything unfortunetly. I checked my regedit and found one called winIogon, with a capital i instead of l so i deleted it and tried booting in safemode. The winlogon stays around 425 kb in that mode and when my internet is off. But when i turn the internet on on regular it jumps up to 99% again. I'm not sure why its doing this..also is it bad that i have 6 scvhost's, one of which is using 18 mb. whats going on?
