net_user Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 you could make a bartpe cd, and download the plugin for remote registry...google will be your friend....
Takeshi Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (edited) If it's a dual boot system (as opposed to two separate machines) you can just boot into XP (assuming you can do that) and load hive (HKLM and HKCU only) from within regedit. That's the easy part. The difficult part would be to know what to change back.(I assume you've tried Last Good Config.) Nepali Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 @takeshihow to load win2003 registry from windows XP.
Takeshi Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 In regedit:highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEFile > Load HiveNavigate to:system32\config\and pick your hive.Don't forget to unload it afterwards.
sgufa Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Hi. I'd want to know how to decrypt encrypted hive files... anyone know the solution?
