Somehow I came to the situation, when I start the Outlook 2003, it does not start Outlook, instead it tries to do the "detect and Repair...", but only the first pop-up comes up, nothing else happens, I have to click "Cancel" to stop it.

The same thing happens when I try to reinstall Office 2003 SP2. The OS is WinXP Proffessional SP2. Can any one help how to completely remove and clean Office 2003, and perhaps also the previous ones (I was using Office XP before), so that I can reinstall Office 2003?

Thanks a lot.

remove office from add/remove programs in control panel. search the web for the office 2003 resource kit.

download this & there is a removal tool in here. run this after you have unistalled office to completely remove all office files. Delete the microsoft Office folder in program files & start from scratch.

Hve you deleted the office data (user) file stored in the following folder?

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office

Just run setup from CD and choose repair.

If you get really annoyed with it you could manually search and remove everything from you hard drive and the registry(run regedit). Otherwise you could reinstall windows.

I have also found it helpful to delete all .ost files from previous installations (if there are any), and deleting all mail profiles (using control panel) before starting Outlook 2003.

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
