Cant install MCE2005

Hi there,

I have just tried to install MCE 2005 from a upgrade of Windows XP Home Edition(SP1).

All was goin well until after the computer restarted and it came to the insatlling devices section. It has been in the same place for the last hour, with no movment in the progress bar and not much disk useage (and it always says 34 mins remaining).

can anyone help me to try to resolve this problem, as i would like it to upgrade (but if i have to do a clean install wont the same thing happen?)?

It normally works fine when i install XP Home (dosent take very long on the installing devices section).

try disconnecting any non-essential hardware: extra hard drives, cdrom/dvd rom drives, lan card etc. try to eliminate some of the hardware. if all else fails, perform a clean installation. a clean installation is always better than an upgrade.
