How do you change the icon of a dat file, for which has no program directly associated to it? Presently, it has the Windows Media icon.

my computer > tools menu > folder options and goto the file type tab and find the dat file :)

Thanks, though not a big deal, I did try that ... non DAT file reference listed to change.
