16 bit Windows subsystem message

Hi there,

I am trying to install a driver to run my old CanoScan FB330P. But a message comes up saying:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

Any advice would be appreciated.
