December 26, 200520 yr HI, i'm having sort of weird problem......i've lan connected internet with xp os. everything works fine but when i shutdown/restart my computer, os can't get the lan connection anymore. It shows "network cable unplugged"...but infact it is plugged in the all the time..........in that case i need to take out the rj45 jack and hook up again with network adaptor......thats how it works again..........but if i restart..same problem again....any solution to this weird problem? do i need to change anything in the bios? Thanks.. Edited December 28, 200520 yr by Martin L
December 26, 200520 yr Try disabling the NIC's autosense, force the network connection's speed and duplex settings manually, and see if that helps any across a reboot.
December 26, 200520 yr If forcing the NIC settings manually does not work, try disabling the TCP/IP media sense feature entirely by settings DisableDHCPMediaSense to 1:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;239924
