Not a crack issue here. Simply would like to know which file does the actual serial number check.

Well if your running the Corp version...there is no files that is responsible for the serial check. It alreayd has been activated..and there will be no need to register....or any kind of trasmistion senting M$ your info..dont fear the timebomb, because its not there! :)

But if you purcased the home or pro retail version..i have no clue what file or files are responsible for the register or phone-home process
