VGA & Profile problems

I'm having strange problems in vmware and I want to know if anyone has ever conquered these issues:

1. XPPE can have a custom profile directory in order to fix Explorer's nag when loading. LH4051 just reboots when trying the same thing. Any idea why?

2. The VGA driver sucks in LH and Vista. Is there any way to get it out of 16 color?
