SidB Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I've been searching this for but no solution yet.I have office 2003 standard trial in a .EXE file (self extractor installer) and I'd like to burn it's installing files on a cd, and make it autorun. Is that Possible? If yes, how please (or where is it explained)? Thanks in advanceSid
-I- Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 (edited) take winzip or what ever, archive-tool you use, open the exe file (as like it was a zip file), extract its conence to a folder exmp; C:\office2003\now look for the installer, setup.exe (or setup.msi), now create an autorun.inf file [autorun]open = office2003\setup.exe icon = path\to\office.ico and put in in the root of your cdrom, now add the entire office2003 folder to your cdrom1 final tip though, - Use a Rewritable cdrom, to test this first. (you could also just create the iso (and mound it with vitual drive). Edited December 17, 2005 by -I-
SidB Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 Thank you for your reply.I tried to do as you explained. But after extraction, when I run the setup.exe file, an error message pops up, warning me of "Fatal error during installation".I don't understand, since it works very well if I run the install from the self-extracting installer file I downloaded.Sid
