:hello: Hey there, I'm a newbie and still somewhat computer challenged. I have XP Home. I have WMedia 10 (I think). I have DVD+R DL and DVD R/RW and of course CD ReWritable. I can play a DVD. I can't burn a DVD. Why oh why? Clicking on "help" in anything I do on my computer, NEVER helps. Thank-you and again Hello All.

What are you trying to burn your DVD's with? (i.e. Nero, Roxio, etc...)

What are the properties of the DVD drive ???

Right click on the drive in my computer | click properties | click recording tab

Your are looking to see if CD recording is on.

??? Will the drive burn a CD-R ???

i beleive that you dont have a dvd burner. you have a combo drive which will burn cds and play dvds but wont burn dvds. if you can provide us with the model of your burner then that would help very much, otherwise there is nothing that we can rly do.
