sirpelidor Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Hi, I used to have a NT4 run as domain controler.Recently I got a new box and put win2K3 on it as a new domain controller. All the client machines (running winxp) were force to create a new user account (instead of keeping old NT user setting) when joining to the new domain.Because the client machine treat the user as brand new user, all the setting is gone (included outlook mail box).so far, i used "File Setting and Transfer Wizard" from System Tool to backup user setting and load it to win2k3 account (from the same client computer) and I used outlook backup to load all emails to the new acct.My question is:What's the more professional (better) way to handle such process??? Even though I'm lack of knowledge in such field, but I can't help but to think M$ must have tools to allow user to upgrade to 2k3 from NT at no sweat???Please share your expertise. Thank you.
