cluberti Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 If you have no recovery CD, you're in some trouble. You'll need access to a Windows XP CD - it doesn't have to be your own, but it does have to be the same version as your installed OS (Home or Pro). You can run the repair installation from that CD, but you WILL need an XP CD in some form to fix your box (without losing your data, that is).
Synapse Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 (edited) make a boot floppy and put hal.dll on it.. I think you have to have the same version and language.. so if its XP Home SP2 English.. get a hal.dll thats XP Home SP2 English... then boot up and type Copy A:\hal.dll C:\windows\system32\that should work.. hal.dll is only like 75kb so there should be no size problem.get a Windows ME boot floppy maker from:http://spock.uccs.edu/pub/bootdisks/bootme.exe Edited November 28, 2005 by Bi0haZarD
