XPerties Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 So i downloaded this MSN messenger as a joke for a certain person thinking they were icons, well the trouble is it auto starts with XP on boot up, it can be seen in the uninstall control panel, Ive ran msconfig and its not listed in there as a start up, and its not listed in the startup folder. The path to this app is C:\Program Files\MSN MessengerI seen the how to remove windows messenger as on your guides and posted Here but they are referring to windows messenger and not MSN messenger altho thats what the topic says. What do you suggest?
Aaron Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Is it MSN Messenger 5.0? You said 'it can be seen in the uninstall control panel', if you meant Add/Remove, then... uninstall it from there. Or, rename your C\Program Files\MSN Messenger folder to something like C:\Program Files\MSN MessengerOFF
Doggie Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 to remove it from start upand if u cannot uninstall, delete the directory and contents
XPerties Posted May 7, 2003 Author Posted May 7, 2003 ok, I took sed advice and installed MSN messenger then uninstalled it. All is good. Thanks
