pulkit Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I have been experiencing this for 4-5 days nowMy computer after working for 3-4 hrs causes some tripping of electricity in the entire houseIs this due to a virus of windows XPI heard and read that viruses could play with the hardware but to such a extent What to do ?I am going to format my computer tommorrowPls post before that to help me
InTheWayBoy Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 You probably have a hardware issue, most likely your Power Supply. While it's possible that a virus may cause extra stress on your computer, resulting in more power usage, I would almost bet money that a virus is NOT causing these issues.
cluberti Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I'd sincerely doubt that a virus would be causing electrical issues with your house. Is your computer plugged directly into the outlets? If so, consider purchasing a low-cost APC power device to remove your computer from direct connection with the electrical wiring of your house. It sounds like perhaps you have some bad grounding on those outlets, but I doubt the issue is your computer. It's most likely the victim in this case, not the cause.
