Modifying NVIDIA driver INF

I have a relatively new laptop with a GeForce Go 6600 graphics card in it. NVIDIA doesn't support the Go series in their releases so I have to obtain the drivers and the INF from a third-party. My question is, how difficult will it be to get the NVIDIA NT4 drivers to work? My understanding is that the only thing that needs to be changed is the INF with the vendor ID info in it. Is this correct and how difficult of a proposition would this be?
