Could please anybody tell me what did i turn off in services.msc

Because button POPULATE under VOLUME HDD options doesn't work !!!!

I get message:" Volume Information for this disk cannot be found. This may happen if the disk is a 1394 or a USB device on a Windows 2000 machine"

I also get this in CD-rw, DVD-rom, HDD-0, HDD-1.

Please tell me if anybody knows !!!

Perhaps the logical disk manager service?
