Installing Office 2000 Professional on XP Home SP2 ?

I'm a home user and not very PC savvy, so please bear with me.

My current but old PC using Win 2000 OS has Office 2000 Professional.

I bought a new PC which comes with XP Home SP2 pre-installed, but nothing more.

I figured I could just install Office 2000, but now I am not so sure.

Am I going to have problems installing and in particular, running 2000 applications (Word, Excel, Front Page) on XP SP2?

Office 2000 in the good old days came with everything MS could stick in it.

I looked at Office XP and I'd have to spend a huge sum for it, on top of

more bucks for Front Page that now comes separately.

Before my new PC arrives, I want to check out what I should do.

If money weren't an issue, I'd just buy the latest Office.

Can you helpful experts offers some helpful advice on what I can expect?

Thanks

There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to install and run Office 2000 on an XP machine. :w00t:

No problem whatsoever. I actually have a client that REQUIRES MS Access 2000 and they run almost entirely XP Pro. Some even still have the complete version of Office 2000 on them and it is running without a hitch

Thanks for the replies and the positive information. I'll go ahead with the Office 2000 on the machine and take it from there. If I encounter any problems, I'll ask the next questions at that time.
