chilifrei64
Try thishttp://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/GmailConfig.exe or do it manuallyhttp://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....3276&topic=1556
HighDarkTemplar
Tried both methods, but no result. The auto config seems to only work with outlook express, and i've done exactly what it says in the manual config thingy......... chilifrei64
Just a couple of things to verifycan you ping smtp.gmail.comcan you ping pop.gmail.comin your outlook configuration the pop port is changed to 995in your outlook configuration the smtp port is changed to 465in your outlook configuration you have checked the "This connection requires an encrypted connection (SSL) box for both POP3 and SMTPIn your outlook configuration make sure you have the my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked and the "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server" is selectedin your outlook configuration make sure your username is your name@gmail.comI just configured my outlook 2003 to gmail doing the above stuff and all worked well. Hope it works for you
HighDarkTemplar
I can ping the server and I've checked your "checkpoints". They are all as you say. I belive there is an alternate port you can use for SMTP. As last time i configured for GMail i didn't use port 465.Best RegardsNerevar
chilifrei64
Gmail uses TLS for smtp communications. Just out of curiosity.. try using port 587 for smtp and see if that works. I tried it on mine and it works:-) I know it sounds weird and I am not 100% where I came up with it but it does work.
