I have just repackaged the IE 5.5 SP2 896688 and the 904706 DX8 Update. The main purpose of the 896688 update is so it will install on versions of windows that aren't ME. The reason for the Update for DX8 is so the update can install directly on 95.

Bug I've noticed:

2 files inside the IE55sp2 patch have lost LFNs and now extract only as short file names [sFNs]:

Q89668~1.CAT

Q89668~1.INF

which brings up errors, probably upon uninstall.

Original file names are:

Q896688_d.inf

Q896688_me.cat

You may wish to re-pack the ie55sp2 patch to preserve original LFNs, or delete them [if not needed] and any references to them inside all other files/scripts.

I have just redone the 896688 patch. Another thing I should point out is that I've seen on http://erpman1.tripod.com/iewmpupd.html is that any IE 5.5 SP2 update after 867801 will break IE and windows. Just thought you should know.
