Problem upgrading disks to dynamic

So, here we go,

I have a Windows 2000 Server already fully installed with 2 scsi disks, one

for O.S. other for backups (it's a backup server).

Now i want to had two 260 GB external usb disks (because i have no space

inside the box) and want to put them mirrored ...

The problem is ... When i try to convert them to dynamic, the "convert to

dynamic" option appears "greyed out" and i can't select it, if i go to the

previous installed scsi disks i have the "convert to dynamic" option

available ...

Anyone knows what the problem might be ?

To my knowledge.. and someone correct me if I am wrong.. but windows knows if it is usb storage and it will not allow you to make a dynamic disk if it is connected via usb.

That would be cool if they did allow it though.. Imagine 2 512 usb drives raided as a portable raid swap for slower computers..

I would have to agree with chilifrei64. I'm almost positive I've read somewhere that you can't do dynamic disks with USB devices.

USB drive cannot be upgraded to dynamic disk, defiantly true.
