XPerties Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 Here is my setup:Router: Linksys WRT54GS Wireless4 PCs Connected/WiredTask:On one PC which is essentially my home/office server I want to shared 4 hard drives within this PC (excludes the c:/ drive) to my main workstation.What I have done:I have ran the so simple network wizard on both PCs independently. On the "server" have right clicked >> properties >> clicked share tab and allowed sharing on network.Now on my main workstation how the heck do I tell it to find this server with the shared drives/folders? Zxian Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 Just another note - You can edit the permissions for each share from the security tab in the folder/drive properties. Another option for you would be to create a shortcut to a particular computer. Enter \\<name_of_computer> as the target and if all connections and settings are proper, you should be able to connect directly to that computer. Zxian Posted October 20, 2005 Share Posted October 20, 2005 Ah... forgot to mention that you'll probably have to disable simple file sharing.Uncheck the circled box (it's kinda hard to see with my theme).And to anyone who asks... that was done on a touchpad...so bite me...
