Taggs Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I can't find where else to post this so I hope this forum is correct. Can any body tell me if I can and how to integrate sql 2000 server sp4 please.ThanksTaggs
prathapml Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Hi taggs,No problemo even if you posted in the wrong place, it will just be moved to the right section. Hmm, about the question, yes its possible! But I'm not sure which of the two you mean. Do you mean:1. Merge SP4 into SQL server 20002. Integrate the setup of SQL2000+SP4 into an unattended windows install ?
Taggs Posted October 20, 2005 Author Posted October 20, 2005 Sorry if I didn't explain myself very well. I'm after option 1. IE I only need to install sql 2000 once and do not need to install sp4 separately afterwards!
Nazgul Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 From http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community..._feb15_sql.mspxQ: Will there be a Slip streamed SP4 Install package for SQL 2000 to ease the installation of SQL 2000 on Windows 2003?A: There will NOT be a slipstreamed version of SQL 2000 SP4 - except for MSDE per usual. SP4 is still Installshield-based as was our original SQL Server 2000 product. SQL Server 2005 (aka Yukon) will be MSI based and we are working to provide slipstream SPs on that platform thanks to the benefits of MSI. MSDE users will have a full version (SQL 2000 + SP4) for their MSDE installation in both MSM and MSI format.
cluberti Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Note that you can import the InstallShield project into, say, Adminstudio Editor (I know, InstallShield X) and make it an MSI...
