Can't install network card - need RT2500.sys

Hi there

I'm ashamed to say I'm completely clueless about computers, if anyone could help me with this, please reply!!

Recently my laptop decided that it wouldn't recognize the hard drive which meant that I had to purchase a new one and get someone to install/reformat everything for me. I had my recovery disc so everything seems to be running smoothly. The trouble is for some reason it wouldn't find the wireless network card that I've slotted in. I have installed the wireless software using the appropriate CD but once installed, it would say that it was an uncompatible driver. When I used the control panel to search for the new hardware, it wouldn't find it saying that it was missing the RT2500.sys file... what is that? where do I get that from?
