i need a driver for irda usb to serial. asap. thanks, unsure of make but it is this one.

edit - dont know what driver i need, if i knew that i would be posting this thread. i need the driver for windows xp pro

Use the Get_hwids.exe file you can find in my signature to determine what HWID your IRDA device has. Then google for that HWID and probably you'll find the driver you need.
