_matt Posted September 29, 2005 Share Posted September 29, 2005 Hi, when booting XPPRO SP2 after "Verify DMI Pool" the gray load bar starts adn finishes and the computer stops. Nothing works. I have set BIOS to Fail safe mode, Ran Check disk from repair console, fixmbr,fix boot. The last thing I did was connect a Ipod Shuffle to the computer and after the install I rebooted. Now I have this!!!!Safe mode doesnt work it starts to load the drivers then freezes. Anyone have and Ideas why this is. rjz Posted September 30, 2005 Share Posted September 30, 2005 How long does it freeze for in safe mode. When loading safe mode it might take 5 minutes or more. There are a lot of hints in google leading different directions. I would try one of them. I would take all of the extra hardware you added out. MHz Posted September 30, 2005 Share Posted September 30, 2005 Could be a bad driver, but it could be a bad piece of hardware that the driver is trying to initialize. I would do as rjz has mentioned and disconnect or remove hardware until it is bare and see if the OS can boot at that. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
