Bluetooth dongle connection

ok...just reinstalled win xp.

For somereason, when I have my dongle plugged into one usb port it doesnt connect, fails, any other port works fine, finds it and installs it, i know that port works as i have tested it, i think it may be sommit to do with the fact it was in that sock during xp install?? how can i fix this
