rajesh.kumar Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 These are the steps i carried out to prepare my unattended xp distribution. 1) manual integration of sp22) used nlite to remove accesibility, briefcase, languages, msnexplorer, tour, patch for themes and file protection.3) integration of hotfixes using svcpack.inf4) created winnt.sif using deploytools and added to the distribution.5) Integrated wmp10 using btsunattended.net instructions.6) Integrated driverpacks using files provided by btsunattended.net.Installation and everything works fine. Now the problem is, when working in xp, i go to command prompt by typing 'command'(not cmd. cmd works fine) in the run window. if i type 'exit' from the command prompt (in FULL SCREEN mode) it exits and gives a complete black screen. The xp desktop never appears. the system is not hanged at this moment coz i can blindly shutdown, reboot, or logoff windows using windows key and arrowkeys. Is there any solution for this problem. coz i used to work with dos based programs, this gives lot of trouble. i wanted this one rectified for 'command' prompt coz some apps use this 16bit shell.
enuffsaid Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Just tried this myself. I don't use nLite, however.Start > Run > Command > OK > Full Screen > exit. I get the desktop nicely. No problems here. Are you experiencing this problem on other PC's aswell?Kind regards,'nuff
rajesh.kumar Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 yes. i get the same problem in all the pc i installed - in almost 10 different pc. i used nlite to remove some components i specified before. i would try recreate the distribution without using nlite but it would take few days to get my hands on it. is there any other tool to remove additional languages, patch for unsigned themes and wfp.
