qzmicro Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Hi guys, just wondreing if anyone had a tutorial for Multi-Booting longhorn. I have build 5112, not 4051 like in flyakite's tutorial. So, if anyone knows how to do it or has a URL, I'd really appreshiate it. Much obliged...Qz
TooMuchFreeTime Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 (edited) If you are talking about "Vista Beta 1" try this:First follow these sections from flyakite's tutorial for Longhorn 4051:-Renaming the CD Shell Folder-Editing "cdsh.bin"-Editing "loader.bin"Then copy these folders from vista beta DVD:-boot-drivers (optional?)-sourcesand these files:-boot.ini-bootmgr-readme.htm (optional?)-readme.txt (optional?)Extract the boot sector with IsoBuster and rename it to VISTA.DAT.-You don't need to edit because it already points to \boot.and put this in cdshell.ini:if $lastKey == key[x]; then chain /VISTA.DAT Edited September 15, 2005 by TooMuchFreeTime
qzmicro Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Thanks for the reply. I will tinker with it and get back to you. Qz
qzmicro Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Worked like a charm. Thank you so very much. Not sure where I went wrong on the tutorial, because I was sure I did everything you just mentioned. I simplified and took out all OSes other than Longhorn, and it worked... now I am going to try and add the other oses... I'm sure I'll get it done from here. Much obliged.Qz
