qzmicro Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I can't seem to get my first OS to boot. (ISO of a Windows XP Pro OEM CD.) I followed the tutorial and made my own boot sector file for this CD. I made my menu and can load the boot sector file, but once inside the setup (right after it asks to press F6 for scsi / sata drivers and f2 for ... ) it asks for the XP CD in drive A:. Can anyone shed any light on the subjetct? What am I doing wrong. Please advise. I gather it is working from the fact that it is loading the proper OS (which I put in my own directory Setup\xp\professional\oem.) I just don't know why windows would ask for the CD in drive A: and why it isn't loading the setup files to begin the install. Thanks in advance...Qz
