computer_guy79 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 (edited) I running server 2003 and am having trouble with my client PC's that are all running XP Pro. It seems that after an undetermined amount of time none of my client PC's can log onto any of the mapped sharred drives of the server. I have disable power managment on both the server and client NICs, and have also choose to prompt for password on resume, thinking that it may be an issue. By doing these 2 things it seemed to have helped, instead of 1 day before I can not reconnect without restarting, it is now about 2 or 3. I have no idea what else might be causing this, any and all help is much appreciated. Edited September 2, 2005 by computer_guy79
chilifrei64 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 one thing i have found is that when things happen NOT according to a pattern and seem to be very sporatic.. I have found it to be the work of a virus... and it doesnt have to be on just the ones on the computers that are having the problems.. it can be on any computer attached to the network. On another occasion i found it to be a bad uplink port on one of my switches that connects the servers.
