Sometimes my Visual Styles disappear

Featured Replies

For some reason, some visual styles won't stay in the Windows and Buttons drop down menu under Appearance in Display Properties. This happens even when they are in the Windows > Resources > Themes folder. The only way I can select one is by going to the folder and double clicking it. Then it appears in display properties but disappears the next time I open it up.

Anybody know the cause of this problem?

Thanks

i had the same problem some time ago, the only way i fixed it was to use another hacked uxtheme.dll, might try that.........

Somehow, messing about with changing the name and insalling new visual styles etc, I got it working. Wish I knew how I did it though :D

I think it's because the uxtheme.dll was replaced into some other version that doesn't fits well toyour system.

You can find another hacked uxtheme.dll,or just install Stylexp of TGTsoft. It's ok.

but Stylexp is not free.
