Desktop Short-cuts

I have a .cmd file in th $Progs folder of my XPCD, I also have a short cut to it in the $Docs > All Users > Desktop folder.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but should the shortcut point to:

D:\XPCD\$OEM$\$Progs\*.cmd

Or

%systemdrive%\Program Files\*.cmd

?

I am thinking it will be the second one but I am just making sure shortcuts are not altered during the burning or installation.

always use variable for this sort of problem

as

%systemroot%

%systemdrive%

do not point to direct link

as

d:\

c:\

e:\

So where does %systemroot% go? Windows folder?

just type it in run command where it will guide u

of course windows folder

%?????????% are the variables used by windows

Type SET at a command prompt and press return. You will have a display of:

variable=value

The variable will be your %systendrive% etc, and value is the path or suitable value.
