Usb Device Connection

hi

i connected my laptop(2000) and desktop(XP) using a laplink usb cable. I have created the connection successfully and can see Local Area Connection (2) under My Network Places.

Now i want to know how can i transfer files between them.

first off, you'll have to share drives/folders on the machines, do this by going to My Computer>right click on the hd you want to share> then hit properties>then hit the tab saying "Sharing" and check for file sharing..

next, open up your "Network Neighborhood" or "My Network Places" from desktop and wait for about 10secs, the domain name (default=WORKGROUP) should show and you can double click that to see the computers that belong to that domain, if they dont show, the computers or shared sources should show instead... then click the computer/or drive you want to acces, and then when you are in there, you can transfer just like you normally would by drag/drop or whichever you normally use...
