Trouble manually adding KB873374 registry key

Featured Replies

This is my first attempt at making an unassisted install, so please bear with.

With the KB873374 tool it's recommended to use that registry key instead.

REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GdiDetectionTool" /v "GDITool" /t REG_DWORD /d "00000001" /f
How do I go about that? Do I add it right svcpack.inf file right after the line
KB873374.exe /Q:A /R:N

Sorry if this was asked several times before. Attempted to search the forums and every search query came up confused or empty. And, searching by hand through the pages brought up nothing.

Hello,

I have the same problem... Before the switch /Q:A /R:N was working for me through the SVCPACK method. Now when I added the newest hotfixes in the 13th min it pops up the GDI+ window stating there are no MS Office installed and I have to click ok. Is there something new or some of the new hotfixes have caused a problem?

Thanks

Well, this tool is for the Microsoft Office software suite. About all I remember from it.

So, as a good guess, need to have office installed as well.

Sorry I forgot to close my comment. I saw this post a little after I had posted mine.

Thanks anyway.
