MaxedOut Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Internet Explorer hangs (stops responding) for a few seconds when opening a webpage. The webpage will start downloading, Internet Explorer will freeze for a few seconds but then resume and the page will load. This is extremely frustrating.I'm running Windows XP Pro 2002 with Service Pack 2 and Internet Explorer version 6.0 with update SP2. I turned off Norton Antivirus and Microsoft AntiSpyware but it doesn't help. I've tried removing temporary internet files and cookies a couple times. I've run Ad-Aware several times. There are 40 processes running. Nothing looks unusual. CPU usage is around 3%. Memory usage is 24%. 512 mb ram. IE did run fast on this machine but now has this problem of hanging up when opening a webpage. Unless I'm missing something, it appears I cannot remove just Internet Explorer and re-install.Any suggestions? Thanks, Gary
