2xXP Pro - dualboot

Featured Replies

Hello, it's time for my first post.

I'm running 2 x XP Pro as dualboot. One system as my "regular" PC (or HTPC) and one stripped down gaming machine, and find it best this way. However, I'm looking for an easy way to switch from one OS to the other. Easy way = not having to press start > shutdown > reboot > wait for OS selection. The perfect solution would be a shortcut on each desktop that would restart the machine straight into the other OS.

Is it possible or not?

Thanks,

Messel

You would need to have the shortcut modify boot.ini directly. I suppose this could be done with VBscripts but that's beyond the scope of my knowledge.

This is of course, assuming that there are no third party applications available. I don't know of any off hand.
