is there any application that will check for what updates you need or what updates you have? im looking for an easier way then to just install and check with windows update. im a xp pro that already had sp2 integrated (not if any following hotfixes) but i just tried using ryanvm's update pack and afterwards the installation always hangs before the "installing devices" comes up when windows says "installation will complete in approximately 39 minutes" so im guessing maybe an already placed hotfix is conflicting somewhere so i guess ill just integrate the updates with nlite individually.

If you read ryanvm's site, it says to use his cab file to integrate into a clean sp2 (do not already have any hotfixes integrated)

As for the T-39 thing, if you read his site and forum, its normal to 'hang' from 5-20 mins

Ps: when i tested on my slow axp 1800+ it took about 10mins at t-39 (tested in vmware)

Ps2: as for programs you can use qfecheck to see whats installed and microsoft baseline security analyzer, or read the sticky on this forum for links to all the sp2 critical hotfixes

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer will tell you what you have installed and what you haven't.

you can open a cmd window and type: systeminfo

it will give you as it says, your system info, including the hotfixes you have installed.
