cyclic redundancy check error when installing

okay i get the cyclic redundancy check error when im installing windows xp with service pack 2, i have done a cdcheck and the rtcdll.cat file in D:\i386\asms is missing..this is really bugging me and a lot of people are having the same problem can anyone out there offer me some advice and hopefully a solution, Many thanks,

there are 2 files with that name in the asms folder. please tell me what version of xp u using so i can send u the file.....
