laso
First I'll tell you what I've done so far:1) Copy the entire contents of the Dell WinXP Home OEM cd in C:\winxphome2) Check to see if the folder \svcpack exists, if so delete it (not found)3) Check svcpack.in_ for any references to any updates (non references found)4) Start nLite, integrate RyanVM and latest hotfixes, and unattended install info5) Slipstream WMP10 (with the app provided in this forum)6) Slipstream my custom bts driverpack with method 1 (cab method)7) Create the image and burnnLite also deleted this folder from my UWXP root:\dell\dell\addon (dell's WiFi drivers)\dell\onboard (dell's chipset drivers)That folder contained the wifi and chipset drivers, but I didn't need them for my xp cd since I integrated more recent ones with BTS driverbase. Then the winxp setup returns an error: it couldn't copy setupwld.exe, which I was able to find in \dell\addon, along with a lot of other files. It couldn't copy them because I deleted these folders, because I integrated newer versions of these drivers anyway.I checked winnt.sif and svcpack.inf for any references to the \dell folder, to stop them from installing, but I couldn't find them. Is there an other place that might contain the references to install the drivers located in \dell ? Because I need to delete those references in order to be able to install windows Laurent
jrf2027
Did the message about not being able to find the file pop up during text-mode setup (when files are copied to the drive) or during the GUI mode (when Windows is actually installed?) If in GUI mode, at what point? If during text-mode, check txtsetup.sif (in the i386 folder). If during GUI mode at the T-13 point, check cmdlines.txt (in the $OEM$ folder). laso
Sorry for not replying sooner, I tried to copy the \dell folder onto the cd aswel, see if it helped, but to no avail: winxp used dells (older) drivers instead of the integrated ones.It happened during the text setup (while it was copying files so it could boot with the real setup next time)Thanks to your help I found txtsetup.sif[sourceDiskNames.x86]...3=%cdname%,%cdtagfilei%,,\Dell4=%cdname%,%cdtagfilei%,,\Dell\addon5=%cdname%,%cdtagfilei%,,\Dell\onboardIs it enough to just remove these lines?PS I'll include the original txtsetup.sif file so you can have a look at it (you don't need to, but I would appreciate it ).TXTSETUP.zip
