installation error

hi all!

i have now been trying to install vista a few times, but same problem keeps occuring.

when i try to install, everything is running EXTREAMLY slowly. when typing in my key for installation (after booting from dvd), the delay isabout 1 second per key.

This continues on and on, and i had to let it install (which took 8+ hours). once completed, i have to boot using safe mode and then when its saying completing installation, an error box comes up saying : unable to complete, please try installing again (or words to that effect).

I am using an xp 2600+, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd, geforce 6600gt.

any clues? would like to try it, but not if its not going to install obvously!
