Pauly001 Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 I have a laptop that I use at work... When at home I use it also on my home network under a different ID and Password(Windows XP Professional). I can't seem to enable printer sharing at home... I use a wireless router that all three of my home PCs print through a host computer. It appears that Windows XP can only be part of one network no matter which user is logged in... Is this true ?Any ideas?
tester_pedro Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 it exists some software where you save your net configuration for home and then for office use and then the software makes the configuration for you, you need only select witch you want to use. For example I get it from my notebook reseller for free. But is a commercial solution and I don't know if something exist under open source or freeware.Maybe Google will be the solution.
jcarle Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 You can move a laptop from one network to another. I do it with my laptop. It think you're just having a problem with the configuration. You say you change ID and password between work and home. What ID are your refering to? Are you talking about your machine's name, your username you use to logon to the network, or are you talking about your workgroup name?
Animal Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I've been using a program that's allow me to change from different domains and workgroup. It's called Multi Network Manager.Have an older version installed, but works perfectly.Multi Network Manager
