Does anyone know how to permanently remove the RECYCLER and System Volume Information folders from the root of a drive? I can get rid of them, but they always come back after a reboot. *grumble* I'm trying to host some files on the root of a partition I made, but Filezilla (the only FTP server I could get to work) doesn't have an option to not show hidden files/folders.

That's not the answer you were hoping, but you can use SUBST to map a folder to a drive letter.

for example, put your "FTP Root Folder" in "C:\FTPRoot", and use "SUBST C:\FTPRoot F:", then select "F:" in FileZilla.

If you delete RECYCLER and don't ever delete anything on the drive, then it won't come back. System Volume Information cannot be deleted as it contains information about the partition. If you don't want your FTP server to show the latter folder, then change to something like WS_FTP.

Ahem... WS_FTP? Have you seen the $395 price tag?

Also, since I'm sitting behind a router, I needed to forward ports for PASV operation. Filezilla was the only (freeware) server program I could find that would allow for checking the external IP of the network.
