Adding drivers and apps to upgrade (NTUpgrade=Yes)

Hi,

This is my first post here, but I've done a lot of searching, both on and off the forums, but I'm still unable to find a solution to my problem.

Here's what I'm trying to do... I've got a bunch of Win2K PCs that we need to upgrade to WinXP. We have to upgrade and not do full installations (we're also upgrading over the network, which doesn't seem to be a problem). The problem is that a bunch of the PCs have network cards that don't have the driver included with XP (Intel Gigabit NIC). I've got the answer file set up with the product key and NTUpgrade=Yes, and everything goes like it should, but I can't find any way to get it to either install the network card driver, or to run an application after installing.

So far, I've tried copying the i386 from an original XP disc, done the slipstream to SP2 and all of the updates, also tried the new XP w/ SP2 disc we just got from Microsoft, and I also tried the driver pack, but that doesn't seem to work with the upgrade either. I also tried the update packs, and windows still reports some updates missing, but that's not really a big deal.

I am also going to be upgrading from Office XP to 2003, and it would be nice to get that running at the same time, but once again, I'm not sure how to get it to run after the upgrade. This is less important as I should be able to remotely add that installation to each computer's scheduled tasks, but they obviously NEED the network driver working before I can do that.

Any suggestions? Thanks,

Pat
